In the Name of God most Gracious, most Merciful.

This section will be developed slowly. Visit again and again as I slowly add the information of the 99 attributes of Allah (God). Each of these Names has spiritual power and healing properties, revealing some aspect of our creator. No translation is perfect, so some error is possible in my rendition.

Studying nature, you get an understanding or the process, forces and rules of our physical and living universe. We can see the attributes of nature in various ways and study them. When it come to understanding God, we need to turn to Divine Revelation in the Holy Quraan to learn of the absolute nature of God. The 99 names of Allah (God) bring us closer to this understanding.

Allah’s Names

Allaah (Qur'aan [1:1]):

Note, this name is the Arabic for God. However the English word is also used for “gods”, while Allah has nor such polytheistic rendition. Nothing else has this name; it is not found in female or plural form. Some scholars say this is His greatest and most complete name. We may consider it as the One who is worshipped, the One whose existence is a must - He has always been and always shall be; and the Unique One. The word used by the Jews speaking Hebrew and by Jesus when he spoke Aramaic is similar, with slight differences in pronunciation. English speaking Muslims therefore refer to Him as Allah.

This is the essential name of God (Ism az-Zat), while the other terms to follow are called the attributes of the Divine Being (Asmaa as-Sifat).
